We're inviting Old Ipswichian musicians for a reunion and gala performance in Great School for the annual Ipswich School Festival of Music and OI Presidents event.
Music has long been an important tradition at Ipswich School, with many of our OIs not only gaining a lifelong love of music at school, but also forging careers as professional musicians.
So we are delighted to have this opportunity – through Tim Kiddell’s OI President’s Event - to invite OI musicians back to the school for a reunion and gala performance on Saturday 9th October as part of the annual Ipswich School Music Festival.
The day will comprise of:
We already have some exciting performances lined up for the evening, but there is still time to get involved.
If, as a musician, you would like to be part of this performance, please do contact either myself (Bev Steensma, Director of Music) or Francis Goodhand OI before Friday 10th September. We are hoping to put together both a choir and orchestra from across the generations, so we would be particularly keen to hear from both instrumental musicians and choral singers.
We hope that this will be a fantastic opportunity to reunite with fellow Ipswich musicians and celebrate the outstanding musical legacy that Ipswich School has - and one which still runs strong today.
Even if you do not wish to take part, please do come along and support the gala performance, at 7.30pm in Great School. Tickets are available to purchase via the link below.
NB: All performers will automatically have a complimentary seat at the concert.
We hope to see as many of you as possible and are looking forward to reconnecting with some familiar faces. Please spread the word!
Kind Regards
Bev Steensma
Director of Music, Ipswich School
