What an incredible celebration of music it was at the Ipswich School Spring Concert at Snape last Friday, from the youngest Prep musicians through to this years Sixth Form Leavers, some of whom have been part of Ipswich School since Reception. Snape will surely remain a highlight of their School journey.

The evening started with the Brass and Percussion ensemble performing the Sambafana, a fanfare full of rhythm and excitement, followed by the Symphony Orchestra performing Ruslan and Ludmila Overture and Cello Concerto. The Prep Chamber Choir then shared their beautiful adaptation of the Circle of Life and the Prep Orchestra then ensued with their heartwarming version of Largo (2nd movement) and La Donna è Mobile from Verdi's opera 'Rigoletto'. The Chamber Orchestra then wonderfully performed St Paul's Suite - Jig and Dargason and Lascia' Ch'io Pianga, both acting as the perfect fun ending to the first half.

After a short interval, the Big Band opened the second half with The Chicken, featuring Ipswich School bassist Kea, Children of Sanchez and MacArthur Park, where Sixth Former and vocalist Zara Musoni captured the audience with her fascinating stage presence. Her talent had everyone clapping along to the beat and created an energetic atmosphere throughout the concert hall. The Lower School Chamber Choir's performance of the pop song I Want It That Way then followed, ahead of the Chamber Orchestra who beautifully performed Ludwig Van Beethoven's Romance, featuring a solo from exceptional violinist and Head Boy, Colin Chung. The Wolsey Consort filled the space with I Love My Love, then, the Chapel Choir sang Even When He Is Silent, before members of the Ipswich School Community were invited on stage alongside the finale musicians and singers for the final performance.

Overall, the night showcased the wonderful sounds of the pupils who together demonstrated not only the dedication and commitment to music at Ipswich School, but also the incredible level at which the musicians practice and perform.

A big thank you to everyone who was involved and to those who attended.
