Re-Cycle - Bikes to Africa, is a fundraising charity that serves to support rural communities in Africa by supplying them with repaired/donated bikes.
We are pleased to announce that they will be joining the School on Sunday 26th April at the OI Cricket event between 10.00am and 12.00pm. Therefore, if you have an old bike (or bikes), you can bring them along to the School to donate them. Please stay and enjoy the OIs vs Ipswich School Cricket Match with family and friends.
Please see the guidelines below of what can and cannot be accepted:
According to the charity’s promotional information: “A single bike can help a student get to school, an adult travel to work, or enable someone to reach medical care or support their community”, which means your unwanted bikes can be put to a noble cause. In the last 28 years the charity have shipped 351 containers of bikes, meaning 158,174 bikes have found a new lease of life and purpose, whether in Ghana, South Africa, Zambia, The Gambia, Malawi, Sierra Leone or Nigeria.
We hope to see you there. No need to book, just turn up.
