The weather was in our favour on Sunday for the annual OIs vs School Cricket match. With some great food and drinks in hand, it was great to see all the players supporting each other during the exciting game, which ended with the School team taking back the win after a nail-biting finish.
A big thank you to Neil Parry (OI 1989-00) for co-ordinating the OI team once again. The OIs demonstrated their class and experience showcasing the lasting legacy of cricketing talent at Ipswich School. The team was made up of a group of OIs spanning several year groups, including father and son Carl (OI 1982-89) & Dillon Hatcher (OI 2006-20), and brothers Chris Bell (OI 1986-94) and John Bell (OI 1987-98).

A mention also to Richard Harris (OI 1967-76) and Georgia from Re-Cycle Bikes to Africa, who during the day received numerous donations of unused bikes which will help provide access to income, education and wellbeing, as well as create long lasting improvement to livelihoods in Africa. They said "We both enjoyed our day and were pleased to have bicycles to take back to base to prove it wasn’t just a day out in the sun for us! We have the promise of more from the school community with deliveries to our Gladwells (Copdock) collection point anticipated. I was at the Charity’s warehouse/workshop today and I can tell you that one of the bicycles we collected has been refurbished and will be offered for sale and all bar one have been designated for packing to our African partners. One (sadly?) didn’t make the grade but will be, quite literally, recycled!"
Overall, the day in the sunshine was enjoyed by all!
