The awe inspiring buildings are situated in the heart of London, overlooking the Thames and moments away from Fleet Street, The Strand and Embankment.
Built between 1562 and 1573, the main structures remain virtually unchanged today. The original features survived the Great Fire of London and both World Wars. Previous famous guests include; Sir Walter Raleigh, Sir Francis Drake, Charles Dickens and many members of the Royal Family including the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Today the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple is one of four Inns of Court exclusively entitled to Call their members to the Bar of England and Wales, and is proud to provide support, education and accommodation to barristers at every stage of their careers.
The OI Dinner will enable Old Ipswichians to enjoy a drinks reception in The Queen's Room followed by a three course meal in The Parliament Chamber.
OI President Sir Neil Garnham (OI 1970-78) has invited Professor Jason Payne-James (OI 1963-74) to be the keynote speaker. Jason is a Specialist in Forensic and Legal Medicine with a range of research and clinical interests. He is Honorary Clinical Professor at William Harvey Research Institute, Queen Mary University of London and Lead Medical Examiner at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. Jason is Chair of the UK Scientific Advisory Committee on the Medical Implications of Less-Lethal Weapons.
