Sophie Cleave and Willow McIntyre, who left the school in the summer of 2022, are two of only 20 students from schools around the country who will be part of the exhibition at The Mall Galleries in March 2023.

The exhibition, called Rising Stars, is organised by the Royal Society of British Artists
(RBA). Art Societies all over the country select items for submission, and then a committee from the RBA makes the final decision on which will be included.
Sophie Cleave painted a piece called Blurred which was to investigate the impact of social media. When asked she said: “I was thrilled to receive the news that one of my A Level pieces got selected for the rising stars exhibition! And I cannot wait to see all the work displayed in March.” Willow McIntyre’s work Metamorphosis was inspired by the book of the same name by Franz Kafka. She said: “I feel incredibly
grateful to be selected for this award and to have the opportunity to be able to display my work in The Mall galleries in London. This photograph was part of an investigation into the relationship between animals and humans and how form and movement flows as one. This piece was part of my A Level display under the topic ‘order and disorder’.”

Mr Parkin, Director of Art, said: “It’s very unusual to be selected to be part of this exhibition, but to have artwork from two students on display is exceptional. Well done to Willow and Sophie for such a great achievement.”
