He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
We are conscious that some people from the time when Anthony was at the School may not be in contact with us and we would ask if you could pass on this information to those that you know.
As is the usual practice, we would like to place an obituary for Anthony in the 2023-24 OI Journal and would be very grateful for any stories or memories you may wish to share which we could put together for the publication. Please address any contributions to me through oldipswichians@ipswich.school

Anthony and I were Prefects together in 1955/56. In the photograph he is the second from the right in the back row. 'The Ipswichian' of October 1956 includes information about his school achievements under Valete Praefecti and I assume are available in the School archive. (Editor: They are).
I lost touch with Anthony after 1956 although I think we met briefly at Birmingham University in 1960. On leaving School he studied at King's College in London but may have moved on to Birmingham for further studies.
Jerry Barr (OI 1946 -1956)

I'm grateful to Jerry Barr kindly remembering my brother Anthony. There is a slight correction however to be made. My brother did go the Kings College London where he gained his BA and AKC but he did not go Birmingham University. He then went on to train as a solicitor, for a short period in London before joining the Norwich Union Legal Department where he stayed in a senior position for many years, finally working in a consultancy position to the late Sue Ryder, before finally retiring.
A thanksgiving service, following his cremation in Norwich, was held in Framingham Piggot Church near Norwich where he had been the organist for twenty or so years. A fuller obituary written by his younger son will be available.

Congratulations to ITFC! Another great opportunity to look back to see where it all began - at Ipswich School and four Old Ipswichians! More...
