Work Experience Placements Required by the Ipswich School Year 11 Cohort - Can You Help?

Julie Hayes is the Careers Officer at Ipswich School and part of her role is to help students find work placements.

Julie said, "We encourage our Year 11 students to participate in a work experience placement from Monday 24th - Friday 28th June 2024 as we know that not only can it help with important future career choices but students also gain those all important soft skills which we know are highly valued by employers. Unfortunately it is becoming ever more difficult to secure placements and we would really appreciate support from our fantastic OI Community.

Last year we had several OIs who offered placements and they were incredibly valuable to those pupils who benefitted. If you feel you can also offer a placement, we would be most grateful.

"We understand that employers are often hesitant to offer a placement for fear of a mountain of paperwork and would like to offer our reassurance that we have streamlined the process as much as possible, requiring the completion of just one short form. We also know that employers can be concerned about having the right insurance in place and we would like to reassure you that 'your existing employers' liability insurance policy will cover work placements provided your insurer is a member of the Association of British Insurers (ABI), or Lloyds."

Please email Mrs Julie Hayes on careers@ipswich.school if you can help or if you would like any further information.

Thank you
